How to Read Wine Labels
Did you know there's quite a bit of information behind a wine labels. Now you have a reason for standing in the wine section, contemplating on which wine to purchase. That's right, your studying each wines label. Let's see what's behind these unique and interesting labels.

First you have the brand name, Andrew Murray (M). This is the winery or individuals name.Second, is the vintage, (2004). This is the year the grapes were harvested. 95% of the wine had to have been harvested in the year listed. Third, the varietal or wine type. (Syrah) In order to list the varietal, the wine must contain at least 75% of the Varietal or wine type. Forth is the vineyard. Listed here is Andrew Murray Vineyards. This should be 95% of the vineyard wine. Lastly, we have the appellation of origin in which the grapes come from. These grapes were harvested in Santa Ynez Valley. This can also be a state or county When you see Estate listed on a wines label, this tells you that the wine comes from the grapes grown on that particular wineries vineyard. 100% of this wine comes from the grapes grown on the Andrew Murray Vineyard.
