Vino Italiano

When you think of Italy what comes to mind? Wonderful food, beautiful scenery and Vino Italiano or you could say Italian wine . No matter where you travel in Italy, you’re bound to find yourself some beautiful wineries and excellent varieties of wine in abundance. You can even find yourself travel packages specifically to explore the beautiful land and some of the historic and wonderful wineries all over Italy. Italian wines are famous the world over. There are few places in Italy where wine isn’t grown and made. From modern wineries to villagers in small towns who still hand pick, then crush the grapes with their bare feet. Some still believe that this is the way to create the best wines. Unlike wines from other areas of the world Italian wines tend towards subdued flavors and aromas which makes them celebrated for being easily paired with foods.

Like any other place full of wineries what you will find varies from region to region. Starting in the north of Italy closest to the Alps you’ll find places like the Lombardy district such as Rosso Cabernets, Merlots, and Sangiovese. You’ll also find due to the varying climates in areas of this district Bianco Garganega, Riesling renano and Trebbiano di Soave. Moving along let’s look at Tuscany the birthplace of the Renaissance and home to a vast amount of art, cultural history Tuscany also has some of Italy’s finest wines. Tuscany lays on partly hilly and partly mountainous terrain along with the valley of the Arno River, the climate is mild generally speaking, dry hot summers and cool in winters. During the height of the tourist season (spring and summer) Tuscany is washed in lush landscapes. From Arezzo you can get a stunning view of the lowlands including the Chianti Valley to the Piazza Grande. While in Tuscany you can also tour some historic and beautiful wineries featuring some of the regions best. You can book a tour at the Brunello di Montalcino where they are famous for their Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. The wines from Brunello have become in the last few decades renown for elegance and lovely ruby red to garnet coloring. In addition to beautiful wines, the winery itself provides you with a lovely landscape to enjoy.

No matter what kind of wine and experience you’re looking for, Italy is the place to go. Even if you’re not doing wine tours you can still get your hands on some of Italy’s most famous and delicious wines such as, Bellavista, Ornellaia, or Antinori. What makes Italian wines worth all this effort? A history of cultivating some of the worlds finest varieties of grapes and vines that have been flourishing for decades and sometimes centuries. Flavors that are bold enough to dance on the tongue but delicate enough to pair with any food. Whether you are looking for a mild climate and lowland travel, or more varied weather in mountain and hilly territory, Italy has something for you, so go grab a bottle of vino Italiano and enjoy. Salud!
