The Napa Valley: The Beauty, Elegance and Fine Wine Napais home to the most popular fine wineries in the United States. The elegance and beauty of the land in Napa Valley is reflected in the wines produced there. The grapes that are grown in this region are plentiful and perfect for producing wine. This is due, in part, to the geographical location and the climate conditions of the valley floor. These conditions are the main reason that some of the most popular wineries have succeeded in Napa Valley. The Valley is one of the premier destinations of tourist today. Although the tradition of making wine in the Valley has dated back to the nineteenth century, the popularity of “wine country” boosted in the 1970’s. This was a result of the Paris Wine Tasting Event. After this event, wine produced in Napa took its place in the ranks with other fine wines of the world.

Napa is located in the north coast of California and lies in the middle of the Vaca Mountain Range and the Mayacamas Mountain Range. As a result of the rising sea levels in the valley, the soil is perfect for the production of quality grapes. The grape vines that sprout here are plentiful enough to maintain many wineries located in the Valley. The climate conditions vary from the southern end and the northern end. The southern end of the valley is cooler during the growing season. In contrast, the northern end is much warmer. This is due to the openness at the southern end and the northern end being shielded by the San Pablo Bay. Though these conditions differ, the result is same. That is, a grape harvest that is of great quality for making fine wine. There are many popular wineries in The Napa Valley.

Beringer Vineyards, Goosecross Cellars, St. Clement Vineyards, Whitehall Lane Winery, Flora Springs Winery & Vineyards, and Conn Creek Winery are only several of the many located in “wine country”. Beringer Vineyards is the Valleys oldest continuously operating winery. They have produced a number of award winning wines. Whitehall Lane Winery is best known for their award winning production of Cabernet. Conn Creek Winery is popular in the production of red wines. The Napa Valley has become on of the most popular tourist destinations. Tours of the vineyards and wineries are available at most wineries. Wine tasting tours is the most popular activity among tourist. Many people come to the Valley, not only to sample the fine wines, but for the beauty and elegance that bestows this valley. Beautiful inns, spas and elegant restaurants have offered tourist from all over the world a rewarding experience.
